Dear Venue Owners & Managers,
Why a Live 80's Dance Party?
After years of listening to the same old classic rock songs in venues around Southern Ontario, audiences are looking for something new. That's what we bring. We are meticulous about re-creating the original album sounds on the post-punk/New Wave dance music that dominated the charts between 1978 and 1985.
Here are some of the songs that are currently in our set lists:
1999 - Blue Monday - Cars - China Girl - Cosmetics - Dance Hall Days - Dancing with Myself - Der Kommisar - Don't You Forget About Me - Don't You Want Me, Baby? - Drive - Drugs In My Pocket - Eyes Of A Stranger - Heaven - Hold Me Now - Hungry Like A Wolf - I Got You - I Melt With You - I Ran - In The Air Tonight - It Doesn't Really Matter - Just Can't Get Enough - Life's What You Make It - Love Will Tear us Apart - Lunatic Fringe - Making Plans for Nigel - Melody - Modern Love - Money for Nothing - More Than This - My Sharona - Never Tear us Apart - Nova Heart - One Thing Leads to Another - Once in a Lifetime - Poison Arrow - Pump It Up - Purple Rain - Rock the Casbah - Relax - Safety Dance - She Sells Sanctuary - Shout - Space Age Love Song - Sunglasses at Night - Tainted Love - Take on Me - Talking N Your Sleep - The Beat Goes On/Switching to Glide - The Killing Moon - The Love Cats - Things Can Only Get Better - Town Called Malice - TRUE - Turning Japanese - Twilight Zone - What You Need - Whip It - Whisper To A Scream
Between sets we continue the 80's party by playing more 80's dance tunes.
Publicity is important. Here's how we do it:
Our performance at your venue will be posted on Facebook as an "Event" entitled "Live 80's Dance Party at YOUR VENUE" (we'll add you as a co-host).
To make sure everyone within 20kms of your establishment knows about the Live 80's Dance Party, we buy Facebook ads to promote the show. Posters are nice (we have posters too)...but they don't reach thousands of people in your local area the way a Facebook Ad campaign does. More importantly, the ad campaign introduces new people to your establishment. People who might never have thought of going out to a bar on Saturday to 'listen to a band' might have a different reaction to going out to a 'Live 80's Dance Party.'
And we get results! We get comments from venue owners and managers like:
"The place is packed",
"We literally had to turn people away at the door"
"When can we get you back here?"
Sometimes the party gets additional coverage in the press, like this one at the Schwaben Club in Kitchener did.
We are a five-man band: Vox, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keys with our own PA and lighting rig. Of course, if you have PA and a lighting rig, that's always better. We're pros. We've bring pro gear. We're all experienced entertainers.
We started this project in February 2017 and are now booked through until June 2019. We're now looking at dates in the second half of 2020.
What do we sound like? Here's a clip from a show we did at Maxwell’s Waterloo in February 2019.
But the Live 80's Dance Party is about more than music. It's costumes. We dress up - and the audience does too (we don't even have to ask). We toss out Smile'n'Wave-branded guitar picks, goodie bags and even Smile'N'Wave-branded condoms. It is all about creating a fun, party atmosphere that draws crowds and drives sales for you.
If we have sent you a link to this page, it means we're interested in working with you. Let us know if this sounds like something you think would work at your venue. You can reach us at email@example.com
